Sexy swords woman and progression

Once again we’ll have a quick look at what I’m doing, and how my progress in mastering watercolours are developing.
As you can see at my desk below, I keep busy and are hard at practising.

My little workspace well littered with work and practice projects

On the computer, you can see a nearly finished poster job I do for a local band (below) called “HardAnger”.

On the smaller pad, you can see yet another study of the girl I call “the Baader twin”, whom will be featuring in my ongoing series The St. Pauli Blues next episode (there is already two finished albums in the series, I am trying to get published these days).

Another study of the Baader twin. Assassin, all over good looking and a psychopath of dimensions....

The big pad is a watercolour project I’ve been contemplating for some time, and witch I seam to go rather slowly about. Beneath you can see the first pencil draft, penned in with a 0.2 UNI P/N fine line, and I have started brushing in some colour.

Watercolour project long contemplated, slowly materializing....

Before I do something as detailed and elaborate as this, I will mostly do a few thumbnails and ink sketches.
This to see what I want to do, and how to get there. Beneath you can see the once I did for this Indian in his canoe. These led to the big one in work.

Thumbnails and ink sketches done as pre studies for the watercolour piece I'm working on at the moment.

The last shot (I have no scanner available to me at the moment, ending up having to shoot these pictures with my HTC smartphone) below, is the WC (watercolour) picture with some more ink. I will proceed with more black to the straws in the foreground. Down on the left side, then let it fade in to negative space as we move in to the light source coming in from the right above.

The watercolour picture with some weight in form of shadows added by my ink brush.

I will try to keep you posted on this one as I move along. I am aiming for something along the lines of early Jean Girard/Moeibus. Like the work he and his staff did in the Blueberry series….Gonna have to slave hard for that one I guess.
That’s it folks, stay tuned I’ll be back…..hopefully  :)

Space ships, Female naked killer, sketching and character design….FUN!

Hie! everybody, here’s a little to inspire and enjoy….

Due to sickness in my family and travelling, my access to internet has been sporadic, and I’d had no scanner in this time. But I’ve been sketching, drawing and going on as usual.

Now I have lots of stuff I can tempt you with over the next days, and I will start of with some neat space ships I tried to do for a series I am about to put together at some time in not too distant future.

It’s very early in the idea stage and I am just playing around a little to get some ideas and inspiration….

…..all these drawings was done with a black marker, Black ballpoint pen and a few colored markers

Now here you can have a peak in to what will be one of the key figures in the last part of “The St. Pauli Blues”, and whom we will also meet in the third part (witch just happen to be one of the two things I am drawing at the moment…are seven pages in to it already).

She is a murderer for hire, and she come from the most infamous of stocks….. OK that’s as much as you get …ALRIGHT THEN!!!   her real family(if one can call it that)name…. is Meinhoff Baader….. OK THAT’S IT!!!!

Here are some of the many sketches I’ve made to try to visualize this character …..all these drawings was done with a black marker, Black ballpoint pen, few brushes, ink and watercolor …..enjoy

Tough bitch eh? …. See y’all around

“The St.Pauli Blues” finally online

I have finally gotten myself around to do a online version of my graphic novel. You can read it here:  http://thestpauliblues.smackjeeves.com/comics/1296301/cover/

Ink on paper again…

Still playing with ink and paper. My brush strokes need to become more consequent in order to invoke the style and feeling I am looking for. The balance between black and white is very difficult to strike, and I seem to struggle between what is needed for the picture to emerge, and what is too much for the composition …

The St. Pauli Blues has finally gotten a cover we might be able to use

Anyone who has followed me and my struggle to create a graphic novel that I can look at and still be satisfied in 10 years, has realized it is a lot of over and over again.
And since I started learning to draw in a proper way at the same time, there was bound to be lots of it.
That goes for the cover as well.
But still it is only the third attempt, and I feel good about this one.
I would have sourced out that task if I could afford to, it being such an important marketing tool in this business and all.
But here it is, hope you like it as well….

Second Studio45 Gallery on Behance

This is the second gallery we open in just as many days on Behance .

This exhibition is a peek in to our new graphic novel “The St. Pauli Blues”

Final Page Design for The St. Pauli Blues

I have redrawn 60% of the 70 pages and changed the over all graphic design since I last posted. These last 5 pages are the final design.
There will be variations on the graphic design since I plan to make a web friendly version for online reading (like one and one picture in stead of pages of’em), and another for iPad related reading devices.
These pages are also with text thus you’d just get a few assorted once to save the suspense until release ..sorry :) but it won’t be long now before we can have a look at the whole thing in all it’s glory.
So now, here we go…

Cover with digital colore

OK I have played around in Photoshop a little and have put some color in their cheeks….(lame joke I know, but it’s Sunday and very late :), I am not satisfied though, I will keep trying

Back online AGAIN!

Once again my broadband supplier has made my life a misery. Nearly 3 month without a connection has really made it hard for me.
Then again I have spent that time very wisely art wise.
I have actually made a brand new graphic design for the graphic novel. One based on twelve pictures pr panel, and rearranged everything accordingly.
There is not one page of the 67 panels where I haven’t redrawn one or more pictures, and on some panels I have redone the whole page. I have also drawn and inserted four new pages/panels.
The text is now in place, and the production of the album is nearly over.
I am in the process of developing a good cover for the product.
Here is my third attempt.

Album Cover

The St Pauli Blues cover suggestion no. 003

Keep your eyes on this site in the near future for news on the project.
We are now in the process of recording two songs with my band “The Plague” that will accompany the graphic novel release.
And there will be a release party….somewhere :)

Sex brand new panels

I have not been updating lately, but there is a perfectly good reason for it.
Once again I ended up working on many panels at the same time (for diversion, as I am now ready to be ready if you get my drift), and it does aloud for a lot better imagery, cos I give my self a lot more time to contemplate every and each pic since I have more to work on as I let time pass a little, then go back to another one again and so on….

Here are the last six panels I’ve drawn…….

The meanest pig in town

Back in the 80’s I was living in Hamburg, and busking the Spitalerstrasse on a more or less daily basis. It was not aloud but tolerated as a peaceful and harmless activity committed by basically harmless people…us.BUT! there was a very committed asshole working the beat on that street, and his name was Colterman.I used to play together with a great guy called Michael Knubbe, and he’d been owning that street for ages, but was HATED by Colterman. Colterman used to run every trick in the book to fuck Mike over. He compounded at least 14 of Mikes guitars, and fined him a lifetime of wages, but Mike would be back on the pitch minutes after release and making Coltermans life miserable.  So much in fact, that one time after 30 years of this, the pig begged for mercy and invited Mike for a cup of coffee. There he confessed that Mike had been a pain in his arse constantly for all those years. There is only one thing to say about this story…….GO Mike GO GO!!!!
Oh and the point of that story is that I have based this Police officer in this story on Colterman (you see I also got to make this characters acquaintance while busking that street in Hamburg). And this is my payback…he he Fuck you Colterman we get the last laugh ha ha ha

Hot Hamburg “Polizei” Broad

This one took some more time then anticipated.
I had to do a little character design for the little biker babe here.

She was not in the original script, but stuck in at a very late point.
So late as that the character design was already done.

Thus it was left up until the last moment to flesh out the girl both visual and texture vise.

The Streets of Hamburg

OK here we’re back on the dirty streets of Hamburg….The bike is supposed to be some fantasy inspired Triumph….. Bear with me here, it was a hellish task to draw a person on a moving bike in the perspectives I wanted. But I am happy with the result

Cool ride

Nothing wrong with that ride….

Out of here

You fill your flat up with stiffs……, it’s then rather obvious that slipping out the back door is one of the better choices.
A briefcase containing a gun, cash in appropriate amounts, a few selected identities in the form of passports and more money in plastic, would of course be another must have for this sort of undertaking.
Or in other words, this panel is in itself a short little tale of “slip out the back Jack”.

OK enough with the bull.
Here is my Panel Nr. 55 for “The St. Pauli Blues”, enjoy it my friends….

One more down

Horribly violent!
But there is no way around it telling a contemporary tale of crime, drugs, betrayal, dirty politicians, merciless assassins and such, without it I’m afraid.

So dear readers to be, you simply must bear with me.
And don’t forget to save up cash for the release.
You just have to have one of these.
Your comic collection will under no circumstances be even close to complete without this first, and then all the next episodes of  “The St. Pauli Blues” Graphic Novel ……get my drift punters… ?   :)

Until next time everybody…

Gun Shots in London Town

Ok they’re really having it out her now. This guy looks like he is one not to be overlooked. I think our junky protagonists have gotten themselves something to really worry about….by the way where are they, and their little ship now?
It will of course be revealed in a few panels before this album comes to an end, and we start the work on next episode…
So you can all start saving, we will be in the shops soon….hopefully  :)

So until then good folks……

Violence in London

So here we are, another panel ready. I had a birthday party on Saturday, and that kind of got me off the schedule for a stint, but I hope to get back in to the rhythm again at once..
Thus here we have next panel, and I am half way to the next one as well..

No rest for the wicked

It was my 50’th birthday today, and still I knuckled down and did another panel….. That’s dedication for’ya..

Wacked!

Finally another panel. This one was not the easiest one, but still I am satisfied as for the moment (witch does NOT mean I won’t come back and edit at a later stage). As you might guessed this is the start of another couple of ultra violent panels. And that might just go down smooth after all that phoning beforehand.
‘Nuff said, enjoy…..

The streets of London

Until next time folks

Boys at the bar

And we are in London Town

Calling London Calling!

Up to no good in a Washington DC public park

And here we go with another one again. Very satisfied with the pace I have achieved (aprox. a panel a day).

This is two of the real bad ones having a nice talk’n walk through one of the many parks in DC…..up to no good as usual….

Washington-calling-CIA-Headquater-Langely-Virgin ia

OK this can NOT be good. Washington calling CIA Headquarter Langley Virginia with a crooks agenda. Hmmm something that is wrong, is not right here…I smell fish…..

I must admit that am really looking forward to put in the dialog and narrative. I bet it will be a very exciting and thrilling story for adult children …..

Very adult children….  :)

Then n’til next time folks    ;)
